Iris Lark It's early afternoon in Avalon and Iris can be found puttering around her house. Since she's been around here more often than not, people are aware that they can find her there if they need help. Her front and back doors are, as usual, open while she's here and there are a few animals trundling through either here to visit Bacon or just wandering in the settlement.
Qwillis     Qwillis would of patched himself up as good as he was able, but he wasn't able to really tend to it well. So, making his way back to Iris' house, he'd pause at that front door. Metal hand on wood would rap lightly. "Hello? Iris? I.. uh.. was hoping I could get your help.." The door is open so he would walk in, looking around for her.
Iris Lark Iris sticks her head out of the workroom door and gestures for Qwillis to come inside. She already has supplies out, clearly someone in the same boat was here before Qwillis was. She gestures to the cot and pulls a few more things down from a shelf. "What happened?" She finally asks, breaking her silence as she turns towards him. She gathers her thick hair and pins it up into a messy bun as she shrugs out of her jacket.
Qwillis     Qwillis smiles her way then heads over. He'd carefully shrug out of that labcoat, then pull his shirt off. There is a rather nasty laser burn in his chest by that left shoulder. Fortunately for him, away from the cybernetics. "I did it, Iris. I got in. I fortified the front door.. and I had a watch tower set up to defend it.." He'd sigh, wince and shift while sitting on the cot. "I fought off a group of Enclave long enough for the Militia to show up and actually chase them off. You can see the results."
Iris Lark "I see that I'm glad that the Militia showed up when they did." Iris murmurs, pulling a crock from the counter and setting it next to Qwillis as she gathers what she needs to clean the burn. "This is going to sting." She advises, pushing a lock of hair out of her eyes. "But the aloe in the salve will help that a bit." She starts to clean the burn, humming to herself as she quietly works.
Qwillis     Q nods and simply sits still for her. Pain? It's an old friend to him and this was just one more moment where it'd wash over him as she'd do her task. "Me too. I'm not a fighter.. I just want to keep the place safe. So.. I do what I can. That's all we can do, while we search for our truth. Right?"
Iris Lark "You're not wrong." Iris says, opening the salve and sniffing at it briefly to make sure it's still fresh. She scoops some up on her fingers and spreads a thin layer across the burn. She turns and rinses off her hand and pulls herbs already in her mortar closer, grinding them with her pestle. She mixes it with a bit of the salve, spreads it across the bandage and then turns to wrap the wound. "I'm glad you found your place, and got it open. How does it look inside?"
Qwillis     Qwillis shakes his head a little. "Gloomy. But I've already worked on correcting that. I'm rebuilding the generator from scratch. I'm using a portable one in the meantime to move the rest of it. I have a lab space setup to work and I'm steadily making it some place that could actually be thought of as home."
Iris Lark "That's good, I'm glad things are moving ahead for you." Iris says, smiling at Qwillis as she finishes wrapping the wound. "There, tell me how it feels?" She takes a step back and starts to put up some of the supplies, other she puts into her rucksack. She pulls the pins on her hair and it falls back down around her shoulders, and she tosses the pins onto her counter. "Is there a lot of room down there?"
Qwillis     Qwillis would check, carefully going through that full range of motion before nodding. "Good. It twinges just a little. But otherwise, I'm fine." He'd take up his shirt to put it on, then would pull on the lab coat. "A lot. From where I can see, there's multiple floors down with an elevator shaft. The generator I have right now isn't strong enough to push the elevator down. So.. it'll be explored in time."
Iris Lark "Well I wish you luck." Iris says, leaning against the counter with her hands folded in front of her. "Let me know if I can do anything to help, I wish I had resources that I could donate, but honestly...I'm a bit dry at the moment." She pushes away from the counter and pulls her hat out, putting it on her head. "Spreading myself too thin helping people."
Qwillis     Qwillis shakes his head and stands to his feet. He'd take out a small pouch of caps and offers it to Iris then. "I'm good.. Thank you though. Here.. just.. accept it. Even if not for you.. so you can help others, ok?"
