Alpha     Alpha was at the sheriff office, doing his best to gather information. Not that there was much to gather. With this particular department being a joke? There was little to no resources here. But then again.. that's to be expected of the jail in the land of raiders, right? A mockery of the truth. He'd sigh as he'd give up writing a moment, dropping the pencil on the table.
Lua
Lua had heard a rumor. The sheriff wanted something of value. So she was curious what this could be and if she could help. This was her new home after all. She would walk into the office in full armor and helmet, her movements more like a guy than a woman and showing no physical features of a female either. She spotted Alpha and took off her helmet, exposing the only hints that she was female: Her hair in tight coils on her skull and her effeminate features. "Pardon. Is the sheriff in?"
Alpha     Alpha glances over as short and armored comes clanging into his jail.. great.. now what? Alpha leans back a little in his chair, eyeing Lua for a moment as she reveals.. oh. A she. Huh. He'd give a small upnod her direction. "Yah. Yer lookin at em. What can I do ya fer, eh?"
Lua
Lua shifted her helmet to under one arm and tilted her head faintly, taking Alpha in head to toe in an appraising manner. Those hazel eyes were green today as she peered back into his face. "I heard along the grapevine you were trying to collect something. I am newly arrived tot he area and would like to aid any endeavors that would be positive to his settlement."
Alpha     Alpha raised a brow as she'd size him up. Made him itch to grab that pistol. At her words though, he'd lean forward, elbows resting on that edge of the table as he'd watch her. "Yah. I'm lookin ta gather pieces of a map, eh? Fer vault 30. Most people dun even care.. So it's fer a sake of prosperity." He'd upnod her way then. "Ya got one?"
Lua
Lua tilted her head faintly. Vault maps.... How odd. She furrowed her brow for a moment and seemed to be pondering something. "Prosperity... Hmmm..." She seemed to ponder.. "What do these look like?"
Alpha     Alpha raises a brow, then shrugs. "Eh? Pieces of a map. Whatcha want me ta tell ya? I dunno how the frag they got all wrecked or whatev, but it's puttin em back together is what's wanted, yah? So, ifn ya got one, I can prolly pay ya fer it, somethin like 10 or 20 caps fer it, eh?"
Lua
Lua stood up and frowned. She eyed Alpha with a hard expression as if studying him again..... A long silent moment passed then she reached into her armor.. and withdrew a fragment of the map. "Like this?"
Alpha     Alpha watched Lua as she'd stand and eye him with the hairy eye. He'd simply raise a brow watching her. When she'd pull out that map, he'd nod lightly. "Yep. That'd be it fer sure. So ya willin ta part with it? Afterall, it ain't doin ya nothin and I have someone askin me to get em for them, yanno?"
Lua
Lua lifted her chin lightly. "And this is for the prosperity of the town you said?" She was mostly concerned that this was not for any one person's wealth.
Alpha     Alpha tenses a little, it's subtle but there, watching Lua as he'd give another light nod. "yah. Prosperity of the town, eh? collectin em ta be able ta give ta the Mayor of ED or somethin, yanno?"
Lua
Lua lofted a brow.... "Sherriff... I am Lua Tanaquil. I am new here yes but I can smell a lie... Now, why don't you tell me what's really going on?" The woman was watching him closely, her green eyes sharp, though not hostile. She was not sure why he would be lying to her but she wanted to know the truth.
Alpha     Alpha eyed Lua a moment, then snorts. "Ifn yer new ta JT, guess yanno.. lyin should be yer second language here, eh?" He'd shrug a little then. "Someone important ta me got taken.. A.. friend.. came up with this idea ta gather enough of them pieces ta get enough of the map ta use as a backup plan fer gettin the important person back. I doubt we'd get all of it.. just need enough ta make it look legit, yah?"
Lua
Lua's eyes narrowed at Alpha for a moment and then.. she slid the piece of map over toward him. "Getting a person back is not for wealth and is an honorable quest. You do not need to pay me either. If you need an extra fist to get her back... You can call on me."
Alpha     Alpha looks at the map piece, then at Lua. He'd slowly lean forward, everything about him ready for that double cross it seems as he'd take the map fragment and slowly put it away. "Hmm.. Best thing ta do? Ifn ya see any of em Enclave fraggers? Crush em.. ifn ya leave scraps alive fer me.. lemme know. They took her.. and I'm gonna get her back.. and then? Then they'll have hell ta pay, eh?"
Lua
Lua watched Alpha take the fragment and then stepped back a half pace, just enough to lower her threat level. She smirked faintly. "Ah, the Enclave... I see. Indeed. If I run into them I will heed your words, Mr. Sheriff."
Alpha     Alpha relaxed subtly as Lua stepped back. He'd give another nod her way. "Alpha. Ifn ya want a name fer me other than Sheriff.. I ain't the only one 'round here.. but name's Alpha, yah?"
Lua
Lua actually smiled and it softened her face. "It is nice to meet you Alpha. If I find more of those scraps I'll bring them to you. Is there anything else you needed?"
Alpha     "My fiance back?" Alpha would smile faintly to Lua and just shakes his head. "nah. Ifn ya see any crimes or anythin.. yer welcome ta report it ta anyone with the duster.. yah? We'll handle it. Otherwise.. welcome ta JTs.. I can recommend Lynn's bar fer a place ta drink at. I patrol it regularly."
Lua
Lua frowned the nodded. She did not like that this person was Alpha's fiance, but it was more sympathy than anger. She nodded again and put her helmet back on. "Thank you, Sheriff Alpha. Your welcome is appreciated. I will see this bar soon then. Good day." And unless he had something else to say she would walk out.
